Nearly all of the pieces below on this page were woven by one family. The main weaver is Jamila, who you "met" a while ago, but here she is again to remind you. The last piece was woven by her mother, who preferred not to have her photo taken.
Piece 2.11462 is a flatweave with embroidered trim, called an akhnif. It is red with three woven medallions, two blue and one gold-orange. When you click on the photo to see it larger, don't be dismayed by the beige spots - they're just dusty footprints and will come out with shaking, which is a good way to clean all of these rugs. On the close-up you can see the delicate embroidery. This piece measures 3'8" x 6'3" and costs $245. SOLD but can be remade, this size or larger.
Piece 2.11464 is a rich red flatweave with a blue square in the center and lacy embroidered designs in the corners and around the edge, which you can see especially well on the close-up. Again, the photo shows dust spots, but they will shake out. The size is 4'4" x 5'6" and the price is $245. SOLD but can be remade, this size or larger..
Piece 2.11466 is a red akhnif or flatweave with embroidery, this one nearly square. This rug has most of the designs woven into the rug in the old style, with just a bit of embroidery. You can see these woven designs well in this detail. The measurements are 5' x 5'4" and it costs $245. SOLD but can be remade, this size or larger.
This is Fadma Faraji nid Belqas with her three sons, aged 4 to 9 years. She made the rug below by herself - although she is rich in sons, she has no daughters to help her weave. Her husband works in the village, either in construction or in agriculture.
Piece 2.11472 is a small pile rug in a rich red with blue and accents in white, gold and a bit of gray. You can see the design best on the close-up. This piece measures about 2'2" x 3'9" and costs $90. SOLD
